Fresh leadership has taken the helm of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State following a peaceful state congress conducted through consensus at the weekend.
The congress, held at Mahmud Ribadu Square yesterday, was presided over by Ambassador Baba Gana Ajimi, chairman of the state congress committee.
In a key procedural step, the former state executive council was formally dissolved after a motion moved by Kate Raymond Mamunu, Majority Leader of the Adamawa State House of Assembly and member representing Demsa Constituency. The motion was seconded by Suleiman Ahmed Gangkuba, chairman of Toungo Local Government Area.
To ensure the process adhered strictly to the party’s constitution, Senator Grace Bent moved the motion for the adoption of consensus, which was seconded by Hon. Sunday Peter, former deputy speaker and member representing Guyuk Constituency.
Ambassador Ajimi then sought confirmation from delegates via a voice vote, after which he announced the new executive committee.
Hamza Bello Madagali emerged as the new state chairman, with Dr. Raymond Chindama elected as vice chairman. Mustapha Atiku Ribadu was named secretary; Bature Moses, assistant secretary; Victor Dogo, publicity secretary; and Dedan Raymond, youth leader, among other positions.

Speaking at the event, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri described the development as a significant milestone, declaring that Adamawa State has achieved full political integration into the APC.
He stated that the party is now positioned for victory in the 2027 general elections, describing the process as a “political evolution” that has resulted in a “full fusion” of political structures across all levels.
Governor Fintiri acknowledged that while not every stakeholder received their preferred outcome, “no one is a loser” in the exercise, emphasizing the need for sacrifice and compromise in building a united front.
He praised the maturity displayed by party members during the ward, local government, and state congresses, which proceeded smoothly.
The governor also announced the establishment of a new grassroots mobilization platform named the Adamawa Renewed Hope 226 Movement (ARH226M), designed to cover all 226 wards in the state.
The successful consensus-based congress is being viewed as a demonstration of political maturity and a strong signal of the APC’s renewed strength and unity ahead of future electoral battles in Adamawa.
