Vice President Kashim Shettima on Thursday formally submitted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Nomination and Expression of Interest forms to the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Vice President, who holds the title of His Excellency Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON, led a powerful delegation that included the leadership of the National Assembly, members of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), and other senior leaders of the ruling party.
The forms were officially received by the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, in the company of other members of the National Working Committee (NWC) at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

Thursday’s ceremony underscores the APC’s unity and early preparation for the next electoral cycle, with key stakeholders from the executive, legislature, and state governors rallying behind President Tinubu’s anticipated bid for re-election.

Vice President Shettima, accompanied by the President of the Senate, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and several Progressive Governors, expressed confidence in the party’s readiness and the President’s track record of reforms aimed at repositioning Nigeria’s economy.

Professor Yilwatda, while receiving the documents, commended the delegation for their show of solidarity and assured them that the party leadership would immediately commence the necessary processes in line with the APC constitution and the Electoral Act.
The event comes at a time when the ruling party is seeking to consolidate its position amid ongoing national challenges, including economic reforms and security concerns. Party leaders believe President Tinubu’s continued leadership remains critical to sustaining the ongoing transformation agenda.
