Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) could register more than two million members in the state through its newly launched digital membership registration exercise.
The governor made the projection yesterday after personally completing his registration and receiving his APC membership card at the party’s state secretariat in Maiduguri.

Zulum, who was registered by an agent from his ward, Aiari Unit 003, was presented with the card by the Borno State APC Chairman, Hon. Bello Ayuba.
The flag-off ceremony also saw the registration of Deputy Governor Umar Kadafur and the APC Deputy National Chairman (North), Rt. Hon. Ali Dalori.
Speaking after the event, Zulum described the e-registration platform as a vital tool for strengthening internal party democracy, ensuring transparency, and building a credible, centralised database of members.
He urged all party faithful across the state’s 27 local government areas to embrace the digital process enthusiastically.
“Strengthening internal democracy is key to stable democracy,” Zulum said. “I call on all members of our party to register via the e-platform. Let us expand our membership base.

I believe Borno State can register more than two million people for the APC, and with the support of critical stakeholders, we can achieve even more.”
The governor commended the APC national leadership for introducing the innovative digital system, which aims to enhance efficiency, accountability, and accurate membership profiling
He directed senators, House of Representatives members, state assembly lawmakers, commissioners, local government chairmen, and other party leaders to mobilise their constituents for mass participation.
The high-profile event was attended by prominent figures including the Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Mohammed Tahir Monguno; Senators Mohammed Ali Ndume and Kaka Shehu Lawan (SAN); the member representing Marte, Monguno, and Nganzai Federal Constituency, Hon. Bukar Talba; Speaker of the Borno State House of Assembly, Abdulkarim Lawan; Secretary to the State Government, Bukar Tijani; Acting Chief of Staff, Babagana Mallumbe; and other senior party officials.
