Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has signed a $120 million Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with African Industries Group to establish a state-of-the-art greenhouse project in Gujeni, Kaduna.
In a statement, Governor Sani described his recent trip to Bucharest, Romania, as a turning point in the state’s efforts to harness its vast agricultural potential.
During the visit, the MoU was formally signed between the Kaduna State Government, African Industries Group led by its Chairman Mr Raj Gupta, and the Bank of Agriculture.
He said the project will not only transform irrigation farming in Gurara but also herald a new era of agricultural development in the state.
Boosting Food Security and Rural Prosperity
Governor Sani stressed that the collaboration goes beyond investment, setting Kaduna on course to become a hub of agro-industrial excellence. Leveraging the Special Agro-Processing Zone (SAP-Z) and the Africa Quality Assurance Centre (AQAC), he said local farmers would gain access to global markets, thereby improving food security, enhancing rural prosperity, and creating sustainable jobs for the youth.
“The partnership will empower our farmers to compete internationally, while ensuring Kaduna becomes a centre of agricultural innovation and agro-industrial growth,” the governor noted.
International Trade Links
He further pointed out Romania’s strong agricultural tradition and well-developed European market links, saying the partnership would strengthen Kaduna’s position in international trade.
Governor Sani reaffirmed that Kaduna is committed to building a robust and globally integrated economy that guarantees prosperity for its citizens.
