Olalekan Abimbola Olawusi, a 48-year-old Nigerian man, has been added to the U.S. Marshals Service’s “15 Most Wanted” list for his alleged involvement in the brutal murder and abuse of his three-month-old child.
The child’s injuries were extensive, with 18 different wounds found at various stages of healing, including a skull fracture, subdural hematoma, significant brain injury, and fractures of the ribs, clavicle, legs, and arms.
The incident occurred on April 3, 2017, when Providence Police and Fire personnel responded to a residence and found the infant bleeding from the mouth and nose.
Despite being placed on life support, the child tragically died six months later Olawusi was initially arrested and charged with first-degree child abuse on April 20, 2017, but was released the same day and subsequently fled the country.

The U.S. Marshals Service, in collaboration with the Providence Police Department and the Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office, has been investigating Olawusi’s whereabouts since November 2017.
It is believed that Olawusi may be receiving assistance from family members in Nigeria and could pose a danger to other children.
A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to Olawusi’s arrest.
The U.S. Marshals Service is urging anyone with information to contact them at 1-877-WANTED2 (926-8332) or through the USMS Tips App.
Olawusi’s addition to this list underscores the severity of his crimes and the threat he poses to public safety.
