Ekundayo stressed that effective security management requires collaboration between law enforcement agencies, the media and the public.
She told journalists during the meeting, “In matters of security, your role becomes even more strategic and impactful.”
She added that the corps remains statutorily empowered to protect critical national assets, combat vandalism, support disaster management operations, and respond to emergencies.
The NSCDC boss further described journalists as indispensable partners in the state’s security architecture. He noted that the visit was aimed at strengthening cooperation between the media and security agencies.
Responding, the Chairman of the Ogun State Council of the NUJ, Wale Olanrewaju, assured the command of continued support through prompt and accurate reportage of security developments in the state.
The latest figures come during growing concerns over attacks on public infrastructure, illegal mining operations, and financial crimes in several parts of the country.
