The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyode, has called on Nigerian youths to reject internet fraud and instead dedicate their innovative energies to constructive nation-building.
The anti-graft agency in a statement posted on its X page on Friday said Olukoyode delivered the charge during his keynote address at the inaugural Kids and Teens STEAM Innovate Buildathon bootcamp.

The event, themed “Future Innovator: Young Minds, Big Ideas, Creating Tomorrow Today,” was designed for participants aged seven to 18.
In the address, which was delivered on his behalf by the Acting Director of the EFCC’s Kaduna Zonal Directorate, Assistant Commander of the EFCC (ACE1) Bawa Kaltungo, Olukoyode advised young people to pursue positive enterprises and completely avoid economic and financial crimes, particularly internet fraud.
While acknowledging the significant talents and innovative spirit possessed by the youth, he implored them to utilize these gifts to support the government’s efforts rather than engaging in activities that jeopardize their future and undermine national development.
“A lot of negativity is going on among the youth but I urge you not to go with the tide. Desist from joining the bandwagon of internet fraud as there will be regrets in future,” Olukoyode cautioned.
