Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has expressed deep shock over recent killings in Akinlalu involving the Amotekun security outfit and has ordered a full-scale government investigation into the tragic event.
The governor, through his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, confirmed that he has dispatched a high-level government delegation to the town and has also scheduled a State Security Council meeting for Monday to address the matter.

Adeleke received a preliminary report from his Special Adviser on Security Matters, followed by further briefings presented to the deputy governor by the security team.
The upcoming Monday Security Council meeting is slated to deliberate on the Akinlalu incident and other emerging security concerns, including fears of banditry spillover from Kwara State.
Vowing to “dig into the root of the fatal encounter,” the governor announced that a high-powered delegation of government officials and security service chiefs will visit the affected community following the Monday meeting.
The delegation is expected to include the Special Adviser on Security Matters, the Commissioner for Information, the Commissioner for Political Affairs, the Commissioner for Transportation, the Attorney General of the State, the Special Adviser on Legal Matters, and service chiefs from various security agencies.
“I am a rule of law governor. This matter is being investigated and any infraction will be dealt with within the context of the law,” Adeleke stated.
“I sent my condolences to the victims of this unfortunate incident. I urge the good people of Akinlalu to keep calm as our government acts on the matter. I feel their pains but investigations are ongoing.”

The governor offered his deepest commiserations to the families who lost loved ones and prayed for their comfort.
