The Kwara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared that no individual will be admitted into the party without a voter’s card.
The State Chairman of the party, Sunday Fagbemi, made this announcement yesterday during the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) and Security Consciousness programme organised by the APC at Arca Santa Hall in Ilorin.
The event drew prominent stakeholders, elected and appointed political office holders, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), party executives, and loyal members.

Fagbemi explained that the gathering was designed to address party matters, sensitise members on the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration, and promote security awareness.
He stressed that possession of a voter’s card is a fundamental requirement for anyone seeking APC membership, and he urged all residents to take part in the exercise.
Encouraging early registration and mass mobilisation, the chairman directed each party member to ensure at least twenty people were registered through their efforts.
He noted that the exercise would consolidate Kwara’s progress under the administrations of President Bola Tinubu and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
Fagbemi also expressed gratitude to Tinubu for prioritising Kwara, citing key projects such as the Bode-Saadu–Kaiama Expressway and Enyenkorin Road, while commending the state’s strides in infrastructure and human capital development.
“Both the President and the governor have demonstrated adept resource management, with Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq leading numerous road projects and improvements across all sectors of the state,” he stated.
Addressing the issue of insecurity, Mr Fagbemi stressed that security is a collective responsibility and underscored the need for collaboration with security agencies to tackle rising threats.
He urged residents of Kwara State to remain calm despite recent security concerns, assuring them that the state government is working closely with the federal authorities.
He cited initiatives such as the establishment of a Forest Guard as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen safety measures.
The Senior Special Assistant on Security to AbdulRazaq, Muyideen Aliyu, disclosed that up to 200 fully armed Forest Guard operatives would be deployed to each local government area.
He further assured the public of a strong security presence at all registration centres, while expressing gratitude to the governor for his unwavering support of security agencies across the state.
Muyideen also revealed that the Office of the National Security Adviser had deployed security experts to Kwara to ensure the protection of lives and property in every part of the state.
In their contributions, the Commissioners for Housing and Urban Development, Ogunshola, and for Works, Abdulquawiy Olododo, commended AbdulRazaq’s performance, particularly highlighting his achievements in their ministries.
