Arsenal delivered a commanding performance to secure a 3–0 win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday, reinforcing their title credentials and climbing to the top of the Premier League table.
The Gunners broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute through Martín Zubimendi, who fired a stunning volley from distance to give Mikel Arteta’s side a deserved lead.
Moments after the second half began, Arsenal doubled their advantage as Viktor Gyökeres calmly slotted home from a perfectly weighted pass by Eberechi Eze in the 46th minute.
Zubimendi completed his brace in the 79th minute, heading in Arsenal’s third goal to seal a dominant win at the Emirates.
The home side were forced into an early reshuffle after captain Martin Ødegaard suffered a shoulder injury following a heavy fall, but Arsenal’s squad depth proved sufficient, despite also being without key players Bukayo Saka, William Saliba, and Kai Havertz.
Arteta’s side remained in control throughout, suffocating Forest’s attack and creating chances with fluid movement and sharp passing.
Nottingham Forest, led by newly appointed manager Ange Postecoglou, struggled to impose themselves. Despite his well-known commitment to attacking football, Forest offered little going forward and were repeatedly exposed at the back.
Postecoglou, only a week into his tenure, will view this as a sobering reminder of the work needed to transform his side, particularly in away fixtures where Forest continue to falter.
The result sees Arsenal move to the summit of the Premier League table, while Forest remain near the relegation zone, continuing a poor run of form on the road.
