The Nigeria Police Force is to launch the NPF Insurance Co. Ltd, a transformative initiative aimed at safeguarding the welfare of police officers while providing comprehensive insurance services to the public.
Muyiwa Adejobi, police spokesperson in a statement on X today said the unveiling ceremony will take place on Monday, December 23, 2024 at the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Peacekeeping Hall, Force Headquarters, Abuja, at 11:00 a.m.
He said the new insurance company reflects the police’s commitment to improving the welfare of its officers, who face daily risks to maintain law and order.
Adejobi added that NPF Insurance Co. Ltd is designed to offer financial protection and support to police personnel, ensuring their well-being as they uphold national security.
Beyond serving the police force, he noted that the company will extend its services to the general public, providing a range of tailored insurance products to meet diverse needs.
“This dual approach aims to bolster national security by fostering a financially secure society.
“The unveiling event will feature prominent dignitaries, including the Honourable Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, as the Special Guest of Honour.
“Other attendees include executive governors from the 36 states, the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barr. Nyesom Wike, members of the National Assembly, and Chairman of the Police Service Commission, DIG Hashimu Argungu (Rtd.),”he said.
He said under Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Kayode Egbetokun, the police remains committed to enhancing the welfare of its personnel and reinforcing the country’s security infrastructure.
According to him, the establishment of NPF Insurance Co. Ltd underscored police dedication, representing a proactive effort to ensure the safety and prosperity of both officers and the public.
Commending the Board of Directors led by its Chairman, AIG Olufemi Adenaike (Rtd.), he described the new insurance company as a pivotal entity in Nigeria’s insurance industry.
