President Bola Tinubu has used his 74th birthday to thank Nigerians for their support and express optimism about the country’s economic future, despite ongoing challenges.
In a statement released from Aso Villa, the President described the occasion as one filled with “joy and gratitude” for the opportunity to serve the nation.
He expressed appreciation to citizens for their messages of goodwill, prayers, and patriotic support for his administration.
The President specifically thanked individuals and organisations who purchased newspaper advertisements or airtime on radio and television to celebrate him.

He also extended warm gratitude to his wife, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, and Vice President Kashim Shettima for their kind words.
Consistent with his tradition of aligning personal milestones with the national mood, President Tinubu said he deliberately chose to observe his birthday in a low-key manner.
Reflecting on the reforms introduced since he took office, the President acknowledged the difficulties faced by many Nigerians but insisted that the sacrifices were beginning to yield results.
“We can see a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel,” he stated, while noting that the ongoing Middle East crisis had caused a temporary setback.
He stressed that the positive outcomes achieved so far were the result of collective effort rather than the work of one individual or government alone.
“The credit for the positive outcomes we have achieved does not belong solely to me, our Renewed Hope team, or our government. We achieved the gains together,” the statement read.
As his administration approaches its third anniversary, President Tinubu reaffirmed his commitment to tackling current challenges and building a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria.
“With your continued support, we shall overcome,” he said, adding that the ultimate goal was to make Nigeria “the pride of Africa”.
The President concluded by wishing himself a happy 74th birthday and urging all citizens to continue working together for the nation’s progress.
