Controversial Nigerian streamer and comedian Carter Efe has thrown down a bold boxing challenge to Grammy-winning Afrobeats star Wizkid following his recent victory in Nigeria’s celebrity boxing scene.
Speaking during a livestream with Kcee and businessman E-Money, Carter Efe declared that after defeating Portable to become the reigning celebrity boxing champion, he now wants to step into the ring with Wizkid.

According to him, the proposed fight would be even more entertaining if Wizkid’s first son, Boluwatife Balogun, is present at the ringside.
“The person I want to fight with now is Wizkid and I want his son, Boluwatife to be there too. Let him come and collect the championship from me if he is man enough,” he said during the livestream.
Carter Efe’s challenge is the latest chapter in his long-running public criticism of the Starboy boss.
Over the years, the skit maker and streamer has repeatedly accused Wizkid of not supporting him enough after he released the tribute song Machala in his honour.
The song, which became a viral sensation on social media upon release, was inspired by Wizkid and heavily promoted by Carter Efe’s fanbase. However, Carter later expressed disappointment that the singer did not publicly embrace or support the project the way he expected.
Since then, the comedian has frequently made controversial comments about Wizkid during livestreams and interviews, often using humour and online drama to keep the conversation alive.
Despite the repeated jabs, Wizkid has largely ignored Carter Efe’s remarks and has rarely addressed the situation publicly. The singer is yet to respond to the latest boxing challenge.
Celebrity boxing has recently become a major entertainment trend in Nigeria, bringing together musicians, comedians, influencers, and internet personalities for exhibition fights that generate significant online buzz.
Carter Efe’s rise in the boxing scene gained momentum after his recent victory over Portable at the Chaos in the Ring event held in Lagos. The fight attracted widespread attention following weeks of online exchanges and public taunts between both entertainers.
Although Portable entered the fight with confidence after previous wins against actor Charles Okocha and rapper Speed Darlington, Carter Efe dominated the contest and won through unanimous decision.
Following the victory, businessman E-Money rewarded Carter Efe with a cash prize of N50 million, further increasing the popularity of celebrity boxing in the country.
Carter’s latest challenge to Wizkid has already sparked reactions across social media, with fans divided over whether the singer should entertain the proposal or continue ignoring it.
While some fans viewed the challenge as another publicity stunt aimed at keeping Carter Efe in the headlines, others found the idea amusing and joked about what a celebrity match involving Wizkid would look like.
For now, Wizkid appears focused on his music career and has shown no indication that he intends to participate in celebrity boxing.
Still, Carter Efe’s comments have once again placed him at the centre of online conversations, continuing his reputation as one of Nigeria’s most outspoken and unpredictable internet personalities.
