The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State, Mr Adamu Ninga, has expressed confidence that the party will emerge stronger and more united after its forthcoming national convention.
The PDP has fixed its national convention for 15–16 November in Ibadan, Oyo State, where delegates will elect new national officers and strategise for the 2027 general elections.
Speaking with journalists in Lafia on Wednesday after an expanded meeting of the State Executive Council, Ninga described the convention as a crucial milestone in the party’s rebuilding process. He noted that it would offer a fresh opportunity to strengthen internal unity and reposition the PDP for success at both state and national levels.
“We are more united and determined than ever to reclaim our rightful place in Nigerian politics, especially here in Nasarawa State,” Ninga said.

He explained that the convention would also provide a platform to address internal disagreements and chart a new direction for the future of the party.
The chairman pledged to promote an all-inclusive leadership style that ensures fairness, transparency, and equal opportunity for all members, particularly those aspiring to contest elective offices in 2027.
Ninga assured that Nasarawa delegates would conduct themselves responsibly during the convention and work collectively to elect competent and visionary leaders capable of steering the PDP to victory in future elections.
In a bid to promote gender inclusion, Ninga also revealed that four delegate slots from each of the 13 local government areas of the state had been specifically allotted to women, reflecting the party’s commitment to broad-based participation.
He emphasised that the upcoming convention marks a significant step in repositioning the PDP as a credible alternative to the ruling party, adding that Nasarawa’s chapter remains committed to unity, discipline, and strategic preparation ahead of 2027.
