Nigerian music star Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has vowed to take legal action against a social media user who accused him of sexual assault.
The user, identified by the handle @chubbiedivah on X (formerly Twitter), allegedly posted claims that Rudeboy raped his house help, a statement the singer has vehemently denied.
She wrote: Raped/coerced their domestic help. She’s the help, how could she sat no? plus she was most likely wayyyy younger.
In another remark, she wrote:
When he was found out, he sent his wife and sister-in-law at the time out of the house. very yanmayanma nigga
In a strongly worded post on his official X account, Rudeboy warned that he would spare no effort in seeking justice.
“I hardly reply!!! But you see this one!!!” Rudeboy wrote: “@chubbiedivah if you like go private, leave X!! I will find you. I will use every necessary means, power, resources and money!!! You will face the law. I will use you to set an example!! (scapegoat).”
The singer further stated that the only escape for the user would be to “leave the surface of this earth and relocate to space,” underlining the seriousness with which he is approaching the matter.
Rudeboy now joins a growing list of Nigerian entertainers who have threatened or pursued legal action against social media users over false claims.

In recent years, several public figures, including actors, influencers, and musicians, have raised concerns about cyberbullying, character assassination, and the psychological impact of online harassment.
Legal experts have also weighed in, noting that defamation cases involving celebrities have increased in Nigeria’s courts.
The Cybercrimes Act of 2015 and existing defamation laws give public figures the right to seek redress if malicious statements harm their reputation.
For Rudeboy, this latest move appears to be about more than personal vindication; it is a statement against what he perceives as growing impunity on social media platforms.
The singer thanked fans and followers who alerted him to the offensive post, signalling that he intends to make this a test case for online accountability.

As of now, @chubbiedivah has not publicly responded to Rudeboy’s threat of legal action. It remains to be seen whether the matter will be resolved privately or proceed to a court of law.
With tensions rising, the incident has reignited debates about the limits of free speech, the responsibilities of social media users, and the rights of public figures to protect their reputations in the digital age.
