Coming after a five-year hiatus, it was a powerful return to the cinema for actress and filmmaker, Omoni Oboli at the premiere of her new movie, ‘The Uprising: Wives on Strike 3.’
The event, which attracted top Nollywood actors as well as social media influencers, including Uche Jombo, Hilda Dokubo, Chioma Akpotha, Femi Branch, Odunlade Adekola, Dr. Shuaib Husseini, Mo Abudu, among many others, held on Sunday 13, October 2024 at EbonyLife Place, Lagos.
The Uprising: Wives on Strike 3 is the third part of a trilogy with the first movie, Wives on Strike released in 2016 and followed by the sequel, Wives on Strike: The Revolution, in 2018.
The new movie tells the story of the kidnap of a graduate. Driven by vengeance, his mother embarks on a bloody quest to rescue him, plunging into a violent and grisly ordeal.
Speaking of the film, Oboli said, “This movie teaches valuable lessons to its viewers on how to handle certain situations and desperate decisions can have an impact on our daily lives. We make valuable choices in our day-to-day activities, so, we must ensure that whatever decision we make, we must be certain that we take the right one because there will be ripple effects.”
The movie started screening on Friday, October 18 across all cinemas and features Hilda Dokubo, Kiekie, Chioma Akpotha, Uche Jombo, and a debut performance by May Yul Edochie.
