The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed claims by Dele Momodu, saying his predictions about the 2027 election are “baseless”.
According to a statement by the party’s spokesman, Hon. Seye Oladejo, Momodu’s ideas that President Bola Tinubu will lose the next election is just a “political gamble” with no facts to support it.
The statement read, “We wish to state clearly that such comments remain speculative, premature, and completely unsupported by the realities on ground. There is absolutely nothing to justify such a wild speculation or political gamble.”
The party noted that Momodu had suggested that the Tinubu would lose if Atiku Abubakar ran for office alongside Peter Obi or Rotimi Amaechi.
In response, the Lagos APC said these comments are premature. The party stated that current political realities actually point to a sure victory for Tinubu.
The Lagos APC noted that the people being mentioned as challengers are currently facing serious problems and lack of trust within their own political groups.
The party further explained that some of these individuals have even been rejected by their own political bases, making the idea of their winning unrealistic.
According to the statement, Tinubu is focused on bold reforms to fix the Nigerian economy and improve security.
The party said the “Renewed Hope Agenda” is already solving “long-standing” problems and putting the country on the path to progress.
The Lagos APC added that Nigerians can recognise good leadership and will not be fooled by media talk.
The party also criticised the opposition for being disorganised and lacking a clear direction, urging political commentators to stop making guesses about the future and instead support policies that help the welfare of all Nigerians.
The Lagos APC concluded that the public will continue to support the Tinubu as his reforms show more results.
The statement read, “The APC in Lagos State remains confident that the Nigerian people will continue to support President Tinubu as his administration consolidates the gains of ongoing reforms and deepens the progress already being recorded across key sectors of the economy.”
