The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has intensified preparations for the 2027 general elections, calling on political appointees and youths from the North-West to step up mobilisation efforts in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.
The call was made at a mobilisation event themed “Renewed Hope, Promise Kept 2027,” where party leaders emphasised the strategic importance of early engagement and sustained grassroots mobilisation in the region.
Speaking at the event, APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, urged political appointees to go beyond their official responsibilities and embrace their roles as party ambassadors.

According to him, appointees must see themselves not only as technocrats but also as grassroots mobilisers with a duty to defend and promote the APC’s policies and achievements.
Yilwatda described the North-West as a critical stronghold of the party, citing its large voting population and youthful demographic as decisive factors in shaping the outcome of the 2027 elections. He called for coordinated, sustained and data-driven mobilisation across communities in the region.
Other speakers at the event, including Hadiza Bala-Usman and the Minister of State for Works, Bello Goronyo, stressed the importance of youth participation, party loyalty and consistent engagement at the grassroots level.
They urged young party members to take ownership of the APC’s message and actively counter opposition narratives, noting that youth-driven mobilisation would be central to the party’s success in 2027.
The APC leadership reaffirmed its confidence in President Tinubu’s re-election prospects, pointing to the party’s strong nationwide structure, youth-focused policies and growing mobilisation efforts across geopolitical zones.
Party leaders said the mobilisation drive in the North-West forms part of a broader national strategy aimed at consolidating support ahead of the 2027 polls and strengthening the APC’s presence at all levels.
