Paris — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has shared insights into his recent meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, describing the engagement as “productive” and centred on strengthening bilateral cooperation.
The two leaders met on Wednesday, 10 September, at the Élysée Palace in Paris for a private working lunch as part of President Tinubu’s official engagements during his annual working leave.
Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, President Tinubu stated:
“Had a productive lunch with President Emmanuel Macron.
We reviewed key areas of cooperation between Nigeria and France and agreed to deepen our partnership for mutual prosperity and global stability.”
Though specific sectors were not detailed in the President’s remarks, the conversation is believed to have touched on economic ties, security collaboration, and regional development—areas that have formed the cornerstone of relations between both nations in recent years.
