In a move to improve service delivery for senior citizens, the Federal Government, FG, has launched the revised Service Charter for the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD).
The new charter, themed “Renewed Commitment to Service Excellence,” aims to establish clearer service standards and accountability measures to ensure quicker and more reliable services for pensioners nationwide.
The Minister of State for Finance, Doris Uzoka-Anite, unveiled the charter in Abuja, describing it as more than a mere document but a “social contract” that prioritises the welfare of pensioners and public trust.

She highlighted President Bola Tinubu’s recent approval of an over N800 billion bond program to clear outstanding pension liabilities, signalling a decisive step towards ensuring prompt payments and dignified treatment for retirees.
Uzoka-Anite commended PTAD for its work in updating the charter, noting that it aligns with the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
She emphasised the need to build a pension system that guarantees fairness, reliability, and peace of mind for every pensioner, and reaffirmed the Ministry of Finance’s commitment to supporting PTAD in its mission.
The revised charter focuses on four key areas of improvement: performance metrics, quality commitment, stakeholder feedback, and clarity/accessibility.
These enhancements are designed to make PTAD’s services more transparent and responsive to the needs of its beneficiaries.
Tolulope Odunaiya, PTAD’s Executive Secretary, underscored the charter’s significance, calling it a covenant that outlines the directorate’s obligations, service standards, and accountability framework.
She stated that the document would serve as a guide to ensure that PTAD continues to deliver on its mandate.
