Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has congratulated the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate, Monday Okpebholo, for their victory in the just concluded Edo State governorship election.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, Governor Aiyedatiwa also congratulated Dennis Idahosa, the deputy governor-elect, acknowledging the duo’s success as a testament to their hard work and vision for the state.
The governor, who doubled as the Chairman of the APC Election Planning and Strategy Committee for the Edo election, expressed gratitude to Edo State citizens for placing their trust in the APC.
He noted that their decision to vote APC would usher in a new era of progressive leadership for the state.
He said: “I want to congratulate our party, the APC, Senator Okpebholo and Hon. Idahosa on the well-deserved victory in the just concluded governorship election in Edo State. I join millions of our party faithful to give glory to God for granting us a peaceful victory to reclaim Edo back into the fold of the progressives where it belongs.
“I thank Mr President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for providing the exemplary leadership that guaranteed a free, fair and peaceful election in Edo, and I also congratulate him on the success of the party in the contest. I commend our party’s leadership headed by the National Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, as well as the national and state campaign committees of the party for the efforts they put in to achieve the much-needed victory.”
The governor praised the people of Edo for their peaceful conduct before, during, and after the election.
He also expressed confidence in Mr Okpebholo’s vision to transform governance in the state through progressive policies and programs aimed at improving the lives of Edo citizens.
