A 37-year-old man, Anthony Okafor, has been apprehended by police operatives attached to Abagana Police Division Headquarters and AVG operatives for the alleged murder of Mr Emmanuel Okafor, 45, his elder brother.
The tragic incident, which fuels widespread reactions from citizens, occurred on 7 February after a heated argument erupted between the suspect and his elder brother.
The both brothers hail from Adegbe Village in the Njikoka Local Government Area (LGA) of Anambra State.
Tochukwu Ikenga, the police spokesperson, made this known on Saturday via a shared statement on Facebook, stated that argument erupted over a food item meant for the house.

He disclosed that the suspect has confessed to having stabbed his late elder brother in the chest with a stick during a heated argument.
The doctors on duty declared Mr Okafor dead upon arrival at the health facility.
Ikenga, while addressing domestic violence and conflict among family members, highlighted the need to manage conflict and emotions to avoid irreparable consequences.
He noted, “This incident is quite disturbing and highlights the importance of addressing domestic violence and conflicts among family members.
The case has been transferred to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department, Akwa.
It was disclosed that the suspect shall be charged in court after the completion of the investigation.
