The Lagos State Government has unveiled a comprehensive traffic diversion plan to accommodate technical checks, duct calibration, and land route repairs on the Island.
The repairs, scheduled to begin on Friday, January 17, 2025 and end on Friday, January 31, 2025, will involve key locations across the Island.
The designated repair locations for the scheduled works include Bonny Camp Underbridge to Eko Atlantic Sales Office, Eko Hotel Roundabout, Officer’s Mess inward Independence Bridge, Ajose Adeogun to Ligali Ayorinde, and Ligali Ayorinde to the end of Landmark.
On January 17 to 31, repairs along the Bonny Camp Underbridge to Eko Atlantic Sales Office will be conducted on the road median, ensuring there is no impact on traffic flow.

On January 19, motorists travelling from Eko Hotel to Adetokunbo Ademola will be diverted into two lanes around the Eko Hotel Roundabout to facilitate smooth operations.
Additionally, vehicles heading toward Independence Bridge from Officer’s Mess will be redirected to the two outermost lanes.

From January 20 to 24, repair works between Ajose Adeogun and Ligali Ayorinde will result in motorists being diverted into two lanes as they approach Ligali Ayorinde Junction inward Oniru Beach due to repairs on a manhole.
Finally, from January 25 to 31, repairs from Ligali Ayorinde to the end of Landmark will be confined to the road’s setback, with no disruption to traffic flow.
The State Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, assured residents that Traffic Management Officers will be deployed to all affected areas to ease vehicular movement and reduce inconveniences.
He urged motorists to remain patient and cooperative, emphasising that the diversions are essential to facilitate the maintenance of underground submarine cables and overall road infrastructure.
Road users are advised to adhere to traffic management guidelines, plan their journeys, and remain patient throughout the repair period to ensure a seamless process.
