According to Opeyemi, Nigerians must search their consciences and speak out against the violence and hardship affecting the country. She expressed concern that the latest attack was not receiving enough attention because of the current political climate.
“We woke up to another news of terrorist attack in Jos. But unfortunately, it is not trending as usual. It is another political season,” she said.
Furthermore, she directed her remarks particularly at fellow actors and entertainers, urging them not to allow wealth, influence, or political connections to affect their judgment.

“My colleagues, everything shouldn’t be about money, influence and affluence,” she said. “Let us allow our conscience to lead us and do the right thing.”
In addition, Opeyemi stressed that although everyone has the right to support any political party, public figures should also think about the long-term consequences of their choices.
She clarified that she was not attacking anyone personally or trying to dictate political views, but rather encouraging her colleagues to think about the future.
“I’m not throwing shade at anybody and nobody can tell you how to swing politically, but you should think of your generation’s future,” she added.
Her comments come amid growing criticism of the government from several Nigerian celebrities over the country’s security challenges. In recent days, public figures have increasingly used their platforms to call attention to the violence and to demand stronger action from authorities.
