The National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bolaji Abdullahi, has highlighted several major setbacks under Tinubu’s administration as he sends him birthday wishes.
Abdullahi expressed concerns regarding the current administration of Tinubu in a statement shared on his Facebook page on Sunday, March 29, 2026.
He noted that Tinubu’s time in office has been defined by severe economic hardship and violence.
He specifically pointed out that fuel prices have increased by nearly “500%” since Tinubu took power, making basic transportation a struggle for most citizens.

Addressing the state of national security, Abdullahi stated that Nigeria has risen to fourth place on the Global Terrorism Index.
He claimed that lives are lost every hour to insurgents, leaving many families displaced and communities destroyed.
Abdullahi criticised the government’s language regarding terrorists, suggesting that calling criminals “sons” or “brothers” blurs the lines of accountability while victims continue to suffer.
He also raised concerns about the country’s democratic health. He warned of a “steady drift toward a one-party state”, noting that the political space for different voices is becoming smaller.
According to Abdullahi, the “Renewed Hope” agenda promised during the elections has turned into “hopelessness” for millions of Nigerian families due to the high cost of living.
Concluding his message, Abdullahi called for a change in leadership style during Tinubu’s final year in office.
He urged Tinubu to view the loss of lives as a failure of leadership and to act with more responsibility.
Abdullahi said, “Nigerians can only offer a prayer… that you finally see the loss of lives under your watch as a failure of your leadership.”
