The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has clarified why some candidates are seeing “No Result Yet” when checking their 2026 UTME results.
In a statement disclosed on Wednesday by its Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, the board said the message applies mainly to underage candidates whose results have not been released.
JAMB said it has received many questions from parents over the issue and decided to explain the situation.

According to the board, candidates who are below the approved age for admission are not yet eligible to have their results released.
It stated that only candidates who will be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026, are allowed to sit for the UTME under normal conditions.
However, the board noted that there is an exception for gifted candidates.
Such candidates must score 320 and above in the UTME and also perform strongly in further screening stages to be considered.
JAMB said the condition was agreed upon with the parents of underage candidates before the examination.
The statement explained that only those who meet the high score requirement will be shortlisted for the next stage of screening.
It added that candidates who pass that stage may then be considered for admission under the special category.
The statement said, “For now, results for underage candidates remain unreleased.”
The board advised parents and candidates to remain patient, noting that further updates will be given after the screening process.
The clarification comes as thousands of candidates continue to check their results following the ongoing release of UTME scores across the country.
