The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Murtala Garo, on Saturday described the APC presidential primary election as a strong reflection of party unity and continued confidence in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Garo, who spoke after participating in the exercise, said the primary went beyond politics and represented what he called a collective commitment by party members to support the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement shared after the exercise, the deputy governor said he was “deeply inspired” by the conduct and turnout recorded during the primary, which reaffirmed Tinubu’s leadership within the ruling party.
According to him, party members demonstrated loyalty, confidence and hope in the country’s future by participating peacefully in the process.

Garo stated, “The exercise was a strong reflection of democracy, unity and the collective determination of party members to continue supporting a leader committed to progress, development and national transformation.”
He added that supporters from different backgrounds came together with “one voice and one purpose” to back the administration’s vision for national development and stability.
Garo also praised President Tinubu’s leadership style and described him as courageous and experienced in governance.
He said, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has continued to demonstrate courage, experience and commitment to nation-building.
“His overwhelming support at the primary election is a clear indication of the trust and confidence Nigerians have in his leadership and his ability to move the country forward.”
The deputy governor further urged Nigerians, especially young people, to remain committed to democratic values and peaceful political participation.
According to him, elections should strengthen national unity rather than create division among citizens.
He stated, “As citizens, especially the youth, we must continue to support peace, democracy and active participation in governance.
“Elections should not divide us; instead, they should strengthen our commitment to building a better Nigeria for everyone.”
Garo also called on Nigerians to remain law-abiding and optimistic despite prevailing national challenges, expressing confidence that the country could achieve stability and prosperity through collective effort and responsible leadership.
He added, “I urge all Nigerians to remain hopeful, law-abiding and focused on national development. Together, we can create a future filled with opportunities, stability and prosperity.”
The APC presidential primary forms part of the ruling party’s early political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections, with party leaders across different states already rallying support around President Tinubu’s re-election bid.
