The committee brings together an elite group of Nigerian technocrats, academics, and former public officials.
It is tasked with creating a “people-centered” and forward-looking policy framework that addresses the nation’s socio-economic and security challenges.
The leadership structure is headed by John Odigie-Oyegun, a former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who serves as Chairman.
Pat Utomi, a renowned political economist, holds the position of Deputy Chairman, while Salihu Lukman, a former APC National Vice Chairman, serves as Secretary.
The group’s diverse membership includes legal luminaries such as Chidi Odinkalu and Sam Amadi, academic figures like Remi Sonaiya, as well as retired military officers, including a former Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Sadique Abubakar (rtd).
In a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC emphasised that the committee’s primary goal is to articulate a coherent policy direction that reflects the real-life aspirations of Nigerians.
“Nigeria’s challenges require ideas rooted in competence, integrity, and national consensus,” the statement noted. “We are confident that this committee will deliver a manifesto that speaks to the real needs of the people.”
The committee comprises a blend of experienced politicians, policy experts, and civil society leaders. Its members include Senators Gershon Bassey and J.J. Akpan Udo-Udeghe, as well as former governor Simon Achuba.
