The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Ayodele, has described the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) as a political setup with no viable future, warning politicians who have joined the party that they may eventually regret their decision.
In a statement issued on Tuesday through his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, the cleric alleged that the party was established for a specific mission and would not make any significant impact in future elections.
According to him, the NDC lacks the structure and seriousness required to emerge as a major political force in Nigeria.
“NDC as a party can’t really go far; it’s a party of political errand boys. It’s not a serious political party, and people who have rushed themselves there will eventually regret it. The party is a political setup programmed to capture politicians,” Ayodele said.
The cleric further claimed that the party would merely use politicians who have aligned themselves with it, describing it as a “political trap.”
He maintained that the party does not have a long-term political future and predicted that it would not survive for long in the country’s political landscape.
“NDC won’t last long; it’s a party that has no political future. I pity those who have pitched their tents in the party; it’s a trap,” he added.
Primate Ayodele also argued that opposition parties would only stand a realistic chance of defeating the ruling party if they united under a common platform.
The cleric recalled that when the party was launched by Henry Seriake Dickson, he had predicted that it would not record any meaningful success in future elections
“In the coming election, even if the person who owns it contests under the party, he will fail. The party will not make any tangible achievement in 2027,” he stated.
The NDC has not publicly responded to the remarks at the time of filing this report.
