Five newly appointed Deputy Comptroller-Generals (DCGs) of Customs were decorated.
Their elevation follows the retirement of senior officers and is expected to strengthen strategic leadership nationwide.
The decorated officers are Baba Imam, Isah Umar, Tijjani Abe, Timi Bomodi, and Oluyomi Adebakin.
Also decorated were eight newly appointed Assistant Comptroller-Generals (ACGs) of Customs.
Their appointments are projected to enhance policy execution, compliance management, and operational efficiency.
They are CG Ogbonna, I Abba-Aji, GM Haruna, EJ Edelduok, G Gaura, I Isyaku, MS Shuaibu and MD Malah.
In addition to the top management appointments, ten officers received special promotions in recognition of their exceptional hard work, professionalism, and remarkable contributions to national revenue, enforcement, and administrative excellence.
Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, congratulated the officers and urged them to uphold the integrity of the Service.
He reminded them that they represent the face of the institution and must remain responsible, professional, and resistant to outside pressure.
“We’re also very vulnerable to pressures at this level from outside the Service. This is the time for us to see the Service as our own. This is the time for us to stand up for whatever value we have created for ourselves,” the CGC remarked.
