The Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Alausa has condemned the recent attack on Government Girls School, Maga in Kebbi State, describing it as a “cruel and senseless act” that has left the nation in shock.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing school security and safeguarding learning environments across the country, with particular attention to communities considered vulnerable to attacks.
The attack saw several schoolgirls abducted, while the Vice Principal, a dedicated educator, was tragically killed.
In a statement shared by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Boriowo Folasade on Wednesday, Dr. Alausa expressed deep sorrow and extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, the school community, and the people of Kebbi State.

He emphasised that no parent should have to endure such terror and no teacher should lose their life while performing the noble duty of educating children.
The Minister assured that the Federal Ministry of Education is collaborating closely with security and intelligence agencies, as well as the Kebbi State Government, to ensure the safe return of the abducted students and bring the perpetrators to justice.
“Our children deserve to learn in safety. Our teachers deserve to serve without fear. We will not relent until every school in Nigeria is a place of protection and hope,” Dr. Alausa vowed.
