The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, will welcome 57 new Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) into the legal profession on Monday, September 29.
The induction ceremony is part of the Supreme Court’s official opening of the 2025/2026 legal year, according to a statement released by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Festus Akande.

The event, which is scheduled to take place at the Supreme Court’s main courtroom at 10:00 am, will also feature the CJN’s “State-of-the-Judiciary” address.
This address will highlight the performance of both the Supreme Court and the wider Nigerian Judiciary during the preceding 2024/2025 legal year.
Prominent figures in the justice sector, including the Attorney General of the Federation, the Chairman of the Body of Senior Advocates of Nigeria (BOSAN), and the President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), are expected to deliver speeches on the state of the sector at the event.
The New Daily Prime earlier reported that on July 24, 2925 the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee, LLPC, shortlisted 57 lawyers approved for elevation to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

Among those shortlisted are 56 legal practitioners and one academic, as stated in a statement released authored by the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court and Secretary of the LPPC, Kabir Akanbi and made available to newsmen in Abuja.
