The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that it will conduct by-elections across affected constituencies on Saturday, 16 August 2025.
These elections aim to fill vacant seats in both the National and State Assemblies. The vacancies have arisen as a result of resignations, deaths, and court annulments affecting various legislative positions.
The INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, made the announcement on Thursday during a consultative meeting with political party representatives held in Abuja.
Further details regarding the constituencies involved and logistical arrangements are expected to be released in the coming days.
