In a message released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President congratulated Nigerians at home and in the diaspora, noting that Easter symbolises sacrifice, redemption and the triumph of light over darkness.
Tinubu said the season serves as a reminder of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, urging citizens to reflect on its deeper meaning, particularly in the face of current national challenges.
According to him, the message of Easter resonates strongly with Nigeria’s present situation, as the country continues to grapple with economic pressures and security concerns.

He noted that the government was increasing resource allocation to security agencies and strengthening international partnerships aimed at tackling terrorism and banditry.
Tinubu also referenced his recent visit to Jos, Plateau State, where he met with victims of violence and community leaders, offering condolences and assurances of improved security.
He said security chiefs had provided encouraging reports on progress being made and expressed optimism that ongoing efforts would yield lasting results.
The President emphasised that national unity remains critical to overcoming the country’s challenges, stressing that peace and stability are essential for development.
“No nation can thrive where fear prevails, and no progress can be sustained without peace,” he stated.
He called on Nigerians to support lawful efforts to restore peace, urging citizens to be their “brother’s keeper” and reject actions capable of undermining national cohesion.
Tinubu also defended ongoing economic reforms, describing them as necessary and carefully designed to achieve long-term prosperity, despite their immediate impact on citizens.
He added that meaningful transformation often requires sacrifice, noting that history has shown that lasting progress is built during difficult periods.
Looking ahead to the next electoral cycle, the President urged political actors to adhere strictly to the Electoral Act and prioritise peace, stability and national interest in their conduct.

“Democracy flourishes where responsibility, restraint and informed participation prevail,” he said.
Tinubu further expressed confidence that Nigeria is on the right path, citing improving economic indicators and expressing hope for a better future.
