Niger State Police Command have confirmed the arrest of four suspected criminals and armed robbers in Gurara area of Minna, the state capital.
The suspects, according to a statement released by Wasiu Abiodun, the police spokesman on Wednesday that the miscreants terrorsing Dikko and snatching phones along Dikko junction.
“On 14th March, 2026 at about 12.30pm, based on reliable information received that some miscreants terrorising Dikko and snatching phones along Dikko junction were sighted in the area numbering about five, and the Police Patrol team attached to Tafa Div was alerted and mobilized to the area”, Wasiu’s statement reads.

The suspects are namely; Aliyu Hassan 20yrs, Sha’aban Suleiman 18yrs, Muhammed Abba 27yrs, and Jibrin Shettima 29yrs, all of Hayin-Dikko Gurara, Bakin-Layi Tafa and Layin-Hakimi of Tafa.

He further stressed that the suspects were arrested with a locally fabricated pistol and a cutlass at Hayin-Dikko Gurara area during an attempt to commit an offence of armed robbery.
“The suspects confessed to the crime of robbery and snatching of handsets, terrorising Tafa bridge, Zuba Abuja – Kaduna expressway and Dikko junction, while they mentioned one Suleiman Dogo a.k.a “Black” presently at large as their gang member”, he added, saying the suspects are still under further investigation to arrest fleeing member.
3 other suspects arrested of theft in Maje
In another development, police announced the arrest of another suspected criminal with a red Volkswagen Golf vehicle with registration number; BWR 360 CL, driven by Mohammed Ali.
The suspect, who is now 37 years old, was arrested along with Shuaibu Ibrhaim and Ado Maraba of Nasarawa.

“Similarly, on 16th March, 2026 at about 11.45am, based on a tip-off, Police operatives attached to Maje Div intercepted a red Volkswagen golf vehicle with reg. no. BWR 350 CL, driven by one Mohammed Ali 37yrs of Maraba market and two others; Shuaibu Ibrahim 37yrs of Ado Maraba and Ilyasu Rabiu of Nasarawa”.
“The suspects were intercepted at Tungan-Shanu area of Maje with a suspected stolen goat, and during interrogation, the suspects confessed to having stolen the goat from the area”, he said.
Wasiu added that the suspected criminals confessed of specialising in stealing domestic animals such as goats, rams, and sheep around FCT, Nasarawa and Niger State, adding that the suspects were charged to court for prosecution
