Former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani Kayode, has launched a scathing attack on the recent national convention of the David-Mark faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing the event as disorganised, undignified, and symptomatic of a party in disarray.
In a strongly worded statement posted on his X account on Saturday, Fani Kayode painted a vivid picture of chaos and discomfort at the gathering, claiming it lacked basic coordination and credibility.
He alleged that delegates endured sweltering conditions in an overcrowded hall without functional airconditioning, leaving attendees hot, sweaty, and visibly uneasy.
“I watched a faction of the ADC conducting what they described as their party convention a few days ago and it was pitiful. I saw an overcrowded hall filled with hot, sweaty men and women,” he wrote.
According to Fani Kayode, the convention descended into disorder, with participants arguing loudly and even breaking into fisticuffs.
He recounted an embarrassing moment when an elderly delegate mistakenly screamed “APC” while addressing the audience, only to realise he was at an ADC event, highlighting what the former minister described as confusion and a lack of focus.
The outspoken politician further criticised the overall atmosphere, suggesting the gathering reflected deeper problems within the faction.
“Forgive me for saying so but this was indeed a strange gathering who have no sense of purpose, unity or direction,” he said.
Fani-Kayode went on to deliver one of his most cutting remarks, likening the attendees to “hungry, ragged and desperate jackals and long-rejected souls that are craving for a return to power” rather than members of a serious political party.

He endorsed President Bola Tinubu’s earlier description of the event as a “street convention,” but went further, adding that it was “a street convention of vagabonds, riggers and wanderers.”
Despite the harsh tone, Fani-Kayode dismissed the political relevance of the ADC faction, insisting it posed no credible threat in upcoming elections. “Bottom line? The ADC ain’t going nowhere!” he concluded.
The criticism comes amid ongoing internal divisions within the ADC, as different factions continue to jostle for control of the party ahead of future electoral contests.
Fani-Kayode, a vocal supporter of the current administration, has frequently used his platform to attack opposition figures and parties.
