Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has commissioned the new Command and Control Centre and a Training Auditorium at the headquarters of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun Corps, in Alagbaka, Akure.
Aiyedatiwa on Monday, declared that security governance is a shared responsibility, describing it as a continuous journey that requires both public engagement and unwavering government support.
He affirmed that safeguarding lives and property remains the cornerstone of his administration, guided by the “OUR EASE” policy thrust.

The governor described the newly commissioned facilities as crucial for improving operational efficiency, intelligence coordination, and officers’ tactical readiness.
He also highlighted the importance of the training auditorium, noting that modern security work demands knowledge, discipline, and controlled spaces for both tactical and theoretical training.
In recognition of the Corps’ efforts, Aiyedatiwa announced approval for the recruitment of 500 additional personnel for the Amotekun Corps.
He also pledged continued provision of logistics, training, welfare, and critical resources for effective security operations.
The governor commended the strong collaboration among security agencies in Ondo State, which he credited with making the state one of the most peaceful in Nigeria.
Aiyedatiwa paid tribute to the late former governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, describing him as a visionary whose courage, alongside his then South-West peers, facilitated the creation of the Amotekun Corps.
Amotekun vows intelligence-driven operations
In his address, the Commander of the Amotekun Corps, Adetunji Adeleye, reiterated the Corps’ determination to enhance security across the state.
He hailed the late governor Akeredolu as the architect of the South-West security renaissance and credited the Corps’ success to its founding policy prioritising operational strength, rapid response, and community-based intelligence.
Adeleye lauded Aiyedatiwa for sustaining and expanding support, which has strengthened operations across the state’s 18 local government areas.
He assured residents of vigilant, proactive responses to threats, stressing that Amotekun now relies heavily on intelligence-driven operations in rural and urban communities.
Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, noted that the peace in the state is anchored on the administration’s support and promised continued cooperation.
NSCDC State Commandant, Oluyemi Ibiloye, welcomed the 500 new Amotekun recruits and praised the strong synergy among security agencies.

State Director of the Department of State Services, Samaila Sagiru, also lauded the governor’s commendable support.
The event also featured the maiden Annual General Meeting of the Amotekun Corps Cooperative Society.
