Sammy’s detention had stirred widespread concern after reports emerged that he was arrested and charged to an Abuja court by his brother-in-law, Senator Ned Nwoko, amid the ongoing marital dispute between Nwoko and Regina Daniels.
In reaction to her brother’s release, Regina took to her Instagram story to share a series of videos and heartfelt messages expressing relief, gratitude, and renewed confidence.
Sharing a video call with Sammy, the actress wrote:
“People love me ooo, I no believe am walai, and that makes me emotional. I love you so much, my brother. Nobody go try beat me again. The kind love I have received during this period makes me feel good. Ned thought people would hate me. Make I no lie, for many reasons, belle dey sweet me.”
New Daily Prime earlier reported that Sammy Daniels was arrested in Lagos last week following a petition reportedly filed by Senator Ned Nwoko. The businessman and politician accused Sammy of harassment and online defamation, alleging that he interfered in his private affairs and aggravated his marital dispute with Regina.
Sammy was first remanded in Keffi Prison on Thursday before being transferred to Suleja Prison. He spent several days in custody before the Magistrate Court in Dutse approved his bail on Monday.
The court granted him bail of ₦5 million, with conditions requiring credible sureties. His release was confirmed by his elder brother, Sweezzy1, who celebrated the development on Instagram with the caption:
“Sammy, you are a great man. Bail has been granted! Nigerians, thank you.”
The post drew massive reactions online, as friends, fans, and public figures expressed relief and commended those who campaigned for his freedom.
Sammy’s arrest is the latest twist in the ongoing controversy involving Senator Ned Nwoko and his estranged wife, Regina Daniels.
In recent weeks, the couple’s relationship has been mired in public drama, with both sides making serious accusations.
Regina alleged that the politician subjected her to emotional abuse and control, while Ned accused her of drug abuse and claimed her family and friends frustrated her rehabilitation efforts.
In one of his public statements, Ned Nwoko alleged that Sammy and some of Regina’s close associates brought her the same drugs she was being treated for, thereby hindering her recovery.
The allegations were widely condemned online and have fuelled the ongoing tension between the two families.
Despite the drama, Regina’s recent posts suggest she is surrounded by love and support. Her messages conveyed relief and optimism as she celebrated her brother’s freedom and hinted at a sense of empowerment.
As of press time, Senator Ned Nwoko has not issued any public statement regarding Sammy’s bail or Regina’s latest remarks.
