Turkish giants Galatasaray have described Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen as “the best striker in the world” following his stunning performance in their 3–1 UEFA Champions League victory over Bodo/Glimt on Wednesday night.
The Super Eagles star continued his incredible scoring form by netting twice in the first half at the RAMS Park, Istanbul, putting Galatasaray firmly in control of the encounter.
Osimhen opened the scoring in the third minute, clinically finishing off a pass from Mario Lemina. He doubled the lead just after the half-hour mark, capitalising on a defensive error to roll the ball calmly into the net.
Yunus Akgün added Galatasaray’s third goal on the hour, while Andreas Helmersen scored a consolation for Bodo/Glimt in the 74th minute.

Osimhen’s brace not only sealed an important win but also made history — he became just the second Galatasaray player ever to score in seven consecutive European matches, taking his Champions League tally to 11 goals.
Celebrating the Nigerian’s heroics, Galatasaray posted a photo of him on their official X (formerly Twitter) account with the caption: “Best striker in the world.”
The 26-year-old forward, who was substituted in the 73rd minute for Mauro Icardi, received a standing ovation from fans as he left the pitch. His blistering form has further cemented his reputation as one of Europe’s most prolific and influential strikers.
