Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, announced on Friday the commencement of the onboarding ceremony for 2,500 interns as part of the Lagos State Graduate Internship Placement Programme (GIPP).

In a statement shared on his X page, Governor Sanwo-Olu highlighted that the initiative was designed to address youth unemployment by equipping young graduates with essential skills and practical experience, paving the way for greater career opportunities.

“There is a significant gap between what students learn in school and the practical skills needed in the workplace. This gap often leaves many graduates struggling to find jobs.

“That’s why the GIPP was established: to help bridge this divide and ensure that graduates, especially post-NYSC graduates, are well-prepared to thrive in their careers”, the statement added.
