Popular Nigerian singer and record producer Young Jonn has spoken candidly about his current approach to relationships.
The ‘Dada’ hitmaker says he is not ready to commit to one woman at the moment and is focusing on keeping his interactions casual and “platonic.”
The 30-year-old music star shared his thoughts during a recent appearance on the Way Up podcast, hosted by American media personality Angela Yee.
Speaking frankly, he explained that he loves the idea of love but is not yet in a place where he can give enough of himself to one person.
“Everybody loves love. Love is wonderful,” Young Jonn said. “But I’m not really in that space where I can give so much of me to one person. So, I’m just keeping it platonic with everybody.”
He stressed that he does not want to enter a serious relationship when he feels unable to meet the emotional demands that come with it. “I don’t want a serious relationship right now,” he added. “Because I feel like I won’t be able to give that person as much as I’m supposed to. So why put them in that situation?”

His comments come after months of speculation surrounding his rumored relationship with Adenike Adeleke, popularly known as Nikos Living and a cousin of Afrobeats star Davido. The pair were first linked in early 2024, when Nikos shared photos and videos of them spending time together on social media.
Fans closely followed their budding romance, with many believing the relationship was becoming serious. However, by August 2025, reports suggested that the two had gone their separate ways. The speculation intensified when both unfollowed each other on Instagram and deleted their photos together.
Young Jonn’s latest revelation now appears to confirm that he is taking time to focus on himself and his music career rather than pursuing a new romance.
The singer and producer, known for hit singles like Xtra Cool, Aquafina, and Big Big Things, has been one of Afrobeats’ most consistent hitmakers over the past decade. His decision to stay single could be a sign that he is prioritizing his creative work and personal growth.
With his career still on the rise and fans eagerly awaiting more music, Young Jonn seems to be making it clear that love can wait, at least for now.
