The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ife Federal Constituency has passed a vote of no confidence in Osun State Deputy Governor, Kola Adewusi, and former National Secretary of the party, Prof. Wale Oladipo, accusing them of engaging in anti-party activities.
The decision was announced in a communiqué issued following the constituency’s meeting on Monday. The statement also sanctioned the Ife East Local Government PDP chairman, Olasunkanmi Makinde.
The party accused the three leaders of fraternising with Bimbo Ajilesoro, the member representing Ife Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, who recently defected from the PDP to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The communiqué stated, “The party is dissatisfied with the actions and conduct of Bimbo Ajilesoro, who defected from the party with the mandate freely given to him by our people.”
It further expressed disappointment that Prof. Wale Oladipo, Deputy Governor Adewusi, and Ife East PDP Chairman Makinde maintained close ties with Ajilesoro despite his defection.
The party also lamented that loyal PDP members in Ife East, such as Lawrence Omotosho, Adeyinka Adeniji (a.k.a Gbogbo Ebe), and Yakubu Olawusi, who openly distanced themselves from Ajilesoro, were allegedly being victimised by losing their government and party positions.

According to the communiqué, party meetings in Ife East have been suspended by these leaders, weakening party activities in the area.
The statement, signed by Adesoji Adegoke, Ropo Oyewole, and 37 others, concluded: “In view of the above, which amounts to anti-party activities and poses grave danger to the success of the party in Ifeland, the meeting hereby resolves as follows: A vote of no confidence is passed on Prof. Wale Oladipo, the Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi, and the PDP Chairman of Ife East Local Government, Hon. Olasunkanmi Makinde (a.k.a Benco).”
In response, Prof. Wale Oladipo dismissed the allegations as baseless, saying, “We are all Ifes. How will an Ife man enter your premises, especially if it is a public place where they sell food, and you chase the person away? They are just joking. They are a set of jesters.”
