The Delta State Government, through the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme, has ordered the withdrawal of the query issued to nursing student Osato Edobor following the circulation of a video from an event attended by the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
The school management had earlier issued a query to students after a video showed them refusing to eulogize the wife of President Bola Tinubu in a song.
The query was issued on 27 March.
The video emerged after Senator Oluremi attended a health programme and the distribution of 10,000 professional kits event held on March 25 in Asaba, Delta State.
Edobor received the query after nursing students at the event rejected a compere’s song praising Mrs. Tinubu. While he sang, “Na awa mama be this; we no get another one,” they responded, “Na your mama be this.”

The query sparked widespread reactions and criticism from citizens, including lawyer Inibehe Effiong, who called for its withdrawal.
Following several criticisms, the school provost, Mrs. R. Evbödaghe, issued a withdrawal notice to Edobor dated March 28.
The letter read, “The Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme, in his magnanimity, has directed the school authority to withdraw the query issued to you on March 27, 2025.
“You are therefore to return the query letter through the student affairs officer to the office of the provost.
“The school authority regrets any inconvenience this may have caused the state.”
