Brazil delivered a commanding performance in their second Group C match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, defeating debutants Haiti 3-0 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. The five-time world champions cruised to victory with a ruthless first-half display, eliminating Haiti as the first team out of the tournament while moving top of the group.

Matheus Cunha stole the headlines with a clinical brace, while Vinícius Júnior added a third goal deep in first-half stoppage time. Coach Carlo Ancelotti’s side showed attacking fluency and control, building on their opening draw against Morocco.
Brazil started brightly and took control early. Cunha opened the scoring in the 23rd minute with a composed finish from close range after good work in the build-up. He doubled the lead just 13 minutes later with a superb strike, rifling a shot into the top corner to make it 2-0.
Haiti, appearing at their first World Cup since a long absence, struggled to contain Brazil’s pace and movement. Vinícius Júnior capped a dominant first half with a well taken goal in the 45+3rd minute, assisted by Lucas Paquetá, sending Brazil into the break with a commanding 3-0 lead.
The second half was more controlled as Brazil managed the game, introducing substitutes including Endrick, who made his World Cup debut. Haiti showed resilience and created occasional threats, but Alisson was rarely tested as Brazil maintained defensive solidity.
Matheus Cunha earned Man of the Match honors for his brace and energetic display, justifying his starting role. Vinícius Júnior was electric as ever, providing creativity and the third goal.
The midfield, featuring players like Casemiro and Bruno Guimarães, dictated the tempo effectively. For Haiti, despite the heavy defeat, the team showed spirit and organization in patches. Their goalkeeper and defensive unit worked hard to limit further damage against a superior opponent.
This result puts Brazil in a strong position in Group C alongside Morocco and Scotland. The win eliminates Haiti early but highlights the Caribbean side’s achievement in simply reaching the World Cup. Brazil, aiming for a sixth title, look sharp under Ancelotti and will target maximum points in their final group game.
With three points from this match (and four total from two games), Brazil are well-placed to advance. Haiti exit with valuable experience but must regroup. The Seleção’s blend of experienced stars and exciting youngsters bodes well as the tournament progresses. Brazil have sent a clear warning to their rivals: they are serious contenders once again.
