The lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, James Faleke, has collected the All Progressives Congress (APC) Expression of Interest and Nomination forms on behalf of President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election, formally signalling the commencement of Tinubu’s re-election bid.
The APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu, declared the nomination process open on Tuesday in Abuja, where he presented the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to Faleke, who also serves as a key figure within the Tinubu Support Groups.
Faleke reportedly paid the N100 million fee for the forms on behalf of the President, further cementing preparations for Tinubu’s anticipated second-term ambition.
President Tinubu, who was elected in 2023, is expected to seek re-election under the ruling APC platform as the party begins early preparations for the next general election cycle. The development has been widely interpreted as an early consolidation of political structures around the President’s continued leadership bid.
