The All Progressives Congress (APC) has sharply criticised opposition figures Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, describing them as “unserious” politicians who are merely shopping for an easy presidential ticket.
Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, made the remarks yesterday during an appearance on Channels Television.

He was responding to the decision by Obi and Kwankwaso to exit the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and join the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) on Sunday.
The two leaders cited multiple legal disputes within the ADC, which they claimed were allegedly encouraged by the ruling party, as their reason for leaving the platform they had joined only months earlier.
Morka dismissed the allegations, insisting that the APC had no hand in the internal crises plaguing opposition parties. He questioned the narrative that the ruling party orchestrates problems in opposition ranks, asking whether the events of the past 48 hours could also be blamed on the APC.

“These individuals are not taking things seriously, and it is difficult to see how anyone can take them seriously,” Morka said.
“They claim to oppose the status quo and should be focused on presenting an alternative vision for governance. Instead, they are busy moving from one platform to another, searching for a cheap or convenient route to secure presidential tickets.”
He accused the former Labour Party presidential candidate and the ex-Kano State governor of exhibiting a pattern of shifting positions at the slightest internal conflict.
Morka noted that Obi had previously criticised politicians for defecting for personal advantage, yet was now engaging in what he termed “nomadic movement.”

The APC spokesman argued that such behaviour does not demonstrate the stability required of a serious presidential aspirant.
He described the ADC as a “self-made grenade” that was always likely to implode due to conflicting interests among its members.
Morka maintained that the APC had no reason to interfere in the affairs of the opposition and reiterated that Nigeria is making progress under the current administration, contrary to claims by opposition figures.
