Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has inaugurated 15 newly appointed Permanent Secretaries in the state’s Civil Service.

In a statement on his X page, Mr Diri urged the new Permanent Secretaries to leverage their wealth of experience in the performance of their duties, emphasising the need to strengthen and build a resilient public service.

The governor was joined at the inauguration by his deputy, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.

The statement partly read: “This afternoon, and in the company of the Deputy Governor of our dear State, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, we inaugurated 15 newly appointed Permanent Secretaries in the Bayelsa State Civil Service.

“I am delighted to say that these appointments were based on merit following the rules and regulations governing the civil service, as I charged them to lead with integrity and accountability.”

He urged them to continue supporting the policies and programs of the current administration, as outlined in the second-term Assured Prosperity Agenda, to drive the state’s development.
