Social media influencer Martins ‘VeryDarkMan‘ Otse has revealed the impressive sum raised just 24 hours after launching his nongovernmental organisation (NGO).
On Saturday, VeryDarkMan announced the NGO, which aims to promote community development and improve public school infrastructure, among other social initiatives.

He called on celebrities such as Davido and Cubana Chief Priest to support the cause, pledging transparency and accountability in managing donations.

However, on Sunday, VeryDarkMan shared through Instagram stories and videos that over N33 million had been donated in less than a day.
He also posted a screenshot of the total contributions, expressing gratitude to all donors.
VeryDarkMan noted that many donations were N500 or less, highlighting the willingness of everyday Nigerians to contribute to positive change despite their financial challenges.

In a video he posted, he said, “Barely 24 hours since I announced my NGO, if I tell you how much is in that account now, you would not believe it. First of all, shout out to all the people who have sent money, shout out to the people sending money. God will bless you.
“I saw the massive love and support when I started seeing amounts like N72, N100, N22, N50, N500. To be very honest, most of the money that was contributed was from N500 naira down. It means most of these people do not get it, but they want to support me. The love is massive.”
He expressed his gratitude to Nigerians who donated to his NGO, emphasising his unwavering commitment to the organisation’s mission of providing a solid educational foundation for children in public schools.

He also lamented the dire state of many public schools, highlighting the shortage of teachers, poor learning environments, and other critical challenges.
In a separate video, he mentioned receiving a call from the presidency, acknowledging and commending his efforts toward improving the quality of public education.
