A non-commissioned officer in the Nigerian Army, Lance Corporal Femi Akinleye, has reportedly killed his wife and later shot himself dead over the allegation that his wife was unfaithful to him. Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, on Sunday, declared a two-week warning strike, saying the period was to a window for the government t o conclude negotiations with it. To this end, it has directed all its members across the country to withdraw their services with effect from midnight. While the federal government making efforts to resolve the face-off between Dangote Refinery and oil workers in NUPENG and PENGASSAN, the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, is already mobilizing for a nationwide strike over alleged “deliberate anti-worker crusade” by the management of the refinery. A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Friday, gave the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, eight days to constitute a team of medical experts and ascertain the health condition of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.
