Nigerians across board have condemned the hike in the cost of application for a travelling passport by the Nigeria Immigration Service. With effect from Monday, September 1,2025, a 32-page passport with five years validity will now cost N100,000, while the 64-page version (ten-year validity) has been pushed to N200,000. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has directed all candidates who uploaded their O-level results before the release of the final 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WAEC SSCE) results to revisit accredited centres and re-upload their results. No fewer than 13 persons were killed in the early hours of Tuesday as some gunmen shot sporadically into a mosque in Katsina State.
