Barcelona claimed their 16th Spanish Super Cup title a record-extending triumph after a dramatic 3-2 win over Real Madrid in the final held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Robert Lewandowski expressed his delight after opening the scoring and contributing to the victory.
“We’re very happy, another trophy. It’s always a big game against Madrid,” Lewandowski told Movistar.
“We played well in the first half, the second too, we were looking for more goals but we won and that’s the most important thing.”
Raphinha starred with a brace, while Lewandowski also found the net for the Catalans under coach Hansi Flick.

Lewandowski quickly restored Barcelona’s lead in first-half stoppage time with a deft chip, but Gonzalo Garcia leveled for Madrid seconds later.
Raphinha sealed the win in the 73rd minute with a deflected strike. Despite a late red card for Frenkie de Jong and Kylian Mbappe’s substitute appearance, Barcelona held firm to secure the trophy their fourth under Flick and extend their dominance in this competition.
